WOREE STATE HIGH SCHOOL: A CLICKVIEW CASE STUDY
ClickView Setup
ClickView Library Server platform: XP Pro, SP2
Network Speed: 1 Gbit/s main switch and 100 Mbit/s classroom switches
Number of users: 700 students
Number of computers: 150 for student use
Background
This year all year 10 students were required to watch The Merchants of Cool.
This was previously viewed via TV/video but created significant logistical
problems for students that were absent. Subsequent screenings were also
required as student recall of the sequencing, language, visual and audio effects
became vague.
ClickView Implementation
Once the ClickView Library and video capture card were installed, The Merchants
of Cool was uploaded. The appropriate teachers were quickly advised and
in-serviced on how to access it. From that point on all students and teachers
couldaccess the movie from anywhere at anytime without the need to book
the video, setup spaces and TV/video equipment.
It was a real learning experience, enabling students to become more responsible
for their own learning and providing teachers with a reduced workload.
